Demographic Analysis

For this blog, I am using the Pelican static website generator. As of this time, I have yet to figure out a way to link directly to static URL’s instead of a blog post. Until then, the visualization tool that I created can be found https://cmertin.github.io/.

The point of the project was to use D3.js as a visualization tool. Categories were selected in such a way that they can naïvely be thought of as independent variables without having too much error.

The American Community Survey provided the data for some of the counties with the total population that falls in each category, followed by the total population. Therefore a naïve approach of multiplying all of the percentages together can be applied to the total population of each county.
